January 2015: Candidate Evaluation (CE) - COMPLETED!
In January, we will be taking our Candidate Evaluation (CE). This is a very large test that will involve both technical skills and personal interviews. Upon successful completion, we will be accepted into New Tribes Mission Aviation!
August 2015: Missionary Training Center (MTC) - COMPLETED!
New Tribes Mission (NTM) has a training center in Missouri that we are thrilled to attend for the 2015-2016 school year. The missionary training center will involve 9 months of Biblical and practical training and serving that will help to prepare us for the field. Here we will learn core concepts that will help us to learn a new language and adapt to a new culture. Along with church planting principles, we will study a wide range of practical topics including safety, communication, family, stewardship and teamwork and how they apply to missionary living. NTM’s goal is to help us thrive on the field by equipping our family through this critical training period.
August 2016: Technical Training in Arizona
Our first assignment from NTM is at the flight headquarters in Arizona. We are focused on serving, training and standardization in the technical aspects of our ministry (aka flying and maintaining aircraft). This is a key time of discipleship and team building with the leaders of New Tribes Mission Aviation! During this time we have also been able to determine which country we can plan on serving in overseas!
Helicopter Training: NTM Aviation needs more helicopter pilots to meet the needs of church planters overseas. They recently asked Jacklyn and I to extend our time here in AZ to take their helicopter training. After much prayer and counsel, we said YES! By God’s grace we will use this helicopter training to multiply the efforts of missionaries, national pastors and tribal churches overseas! Please be praying for mental endurance for Frank during the flights, faith and peace for us as we trust God to provide the finances, and for continued unity in our marriage as we take on this huge task together. We hope to wrap up this training as early as the end of 2017.
